《糊塗偵探歸來》是由知名导演蓋瑞·尼爾森 执导的一部喜劇片,唐·亞當斯 芭芭拉·費爾頓 伯尼·克佩爾 等倾情出演,该片讲述了: Get Smart, Aga in! is a mad e-for-TV movie bas ed on the 1965-1970 NBC/CBS television serie s, Get Smart!, which originally aired F ebruary 26, 198 9 on ABC (iron ically, th e network th at rej ected t he orig inal pilot for the Get Smart! TV series). It has subsequen tly been released twice on DVD by different publisher s. In the video rele ase of t he movie, t he bac kground canned laughter (pr e-recorded laughter added later to the soundtrack), is absen t. Overview Differences b etween Get Smart, Again! and The Nude Bom b T he film is not a s wel l known as the earlier th eatrical release, The Nud e Bomb , also based on Get Smart, but was b etter receive d by fans of the original program. U nlike The Nude Bomb , which f eatured only the characters of Sm art, The Chief (with Dana Elcar rep lacin g the dece ased Edward Platt), Agent 13 (Dave Ketchum in the series, portrayed b y Joey F orman in T he Nude Bomb, who had played the character Harry Hoo in the series) and La rrabee, Get Sma rt, Again! featured all of the surviving original cast reprising their roles. The to ne an d feel of Get Smart , Aga in! were also closer t o tha t of the ori ginal series . Get Smart, Ag ain! was wri tten and produced by Leonard Stern, who was a producer of the original s erie s. One ele ment of the Nude Bomb ignored compl etely was the renam ing of CONTROL as PITS in the e arlier film; althou gh as CONTRO L is said to have disbanded in the 1 970s, it's not impossible for bo th CONTROL a nd PITS to exist wit hin the continuity of the franchise. Barbara Feldon's ch aracter, 99, makes a reference to T. H.R.U.S.H., the evil organization in The Man From U. N.C.L.E., a show on which Feldo n guest-starred. The me music G et Smart, A gain! also reprises the TV program 39;s original th eme mus ic and openi ng cr edit sequence, which were absent from The Nude Bomb. In this case, however, the cor ridors were covered in cobwebs and the phone -booth eleva tor that led to C ONTROL headquarters worked in revers e, causing Smart to be thrown to the top of the boot h. Synopsis Maxwell Smart, acting as a protocol officer since CONTROL w as d isbanded i n the early 19 70s, is reac tivated as a counteri ntelligence agent by Commander Dru ry (Kenneth Mars) o f the United Sta tes Intelligence Agency. KA OS, long considered defunct, has been re vitalized by a cor porate ta keover. It s first scheme involve s tu rning a forgotten Ame rican scien tist an d using his wea ther control m achine to extort $250 billio n US dollars from t he Unit ed States Government. Drury, convinced t hat on ly Smart has th e expertise to comb at KAOS, g ives him car te blanche to reactivate former CONTR OL agen ts t o assist hi m in his tas k. Alon g with D rury 39;s bu mbling aide, Beamish (Steve Levitt), Smart recruits Larrabee (wh o, believin g that he was un der orders from Richard Nixon to st ay at his post unt il relieved, has been living in his office in the no w-abandon ed CONTROL head quarte rs tendin g hi s office plants), Agent 13, Hym ie the Robo t (now emp loyed as a crash test dummy) and ultimately, his wife 99 (Barbara F eldon) to find the security l eak that allowe d the scie ntist to defect, locate the weathe r machi ne and disarm i t. They are opposed by KAOS moles within the USI A, who are able to predict Ma x's ev ery move with the aid of stolen cop ies of 99 39;s unpublished memoirs. The visible head of th e KAOS schem e is reveale d to be Max';s old n emesis, Siegfried, but he is merely th e agent of a highe r exec utive whom even he has never met. This h igher power is fi nall y revealed as N icholas Demente (Harold Gould), 99's publisher, who inten ds not only to extort the money but also to create weather that will keep people eternally indoors and interfere with television reception, forcing mi llions to ente rtain themselves by bu ying Dement e's books and publications. Comedic style The s cript is littered w ith typical Maxw ell S mart verbal gags, an d la rge portio ns o f the plot se rve only as s et ups for Get Smar t!-sty le sig ht gags (such as a duel between Max a nd a KAOS hitman using remote controlled file cabinet drawers). The film al so features the array of bizar re gadgetry and political satire that were hallmarks of the original series. The cone of silence has been superseded by "Hover Cover" where a m eeting is held on a rooftop with thr ee he licopters hovering overhe ad. Th e fa ilure of Hover C over lead s to the develo pment of "The Ha ll Of Hus h",a soundproof room where w ords print out silently in mid ai r, a success at first until the words begin to print forward, backward and on top of each ot her. Max chang es the well known quot e &q uot;Dr. Livingsto ne I Presume" to "Dr. Hottentot I Presum e&quo t;. 1995 revival The rel ative success of the film prompted the de velo pment of a s hort-lived 1995 weekly seri es on FOX, also titl ed Get Sma rt, with Don Adams and Barbara Feldon reprising t heir char acters as their bum bling son, Z ach (A ndy Di ck), bec omes CO NTROL39;s star ag ent.
